Maybe this is the most obvious one from the list. As salt is sodium chloride, which is a mineral from Earth, it’s not a surprise that it can be eaten forever. It’s also good for preserving other foods, because it absorbs all moisture. Make sure that your salt doesn’t contain iodine, because it reduces the shelf life to about 5 years.
